Sales tax receipts add up in county

West Point’s local option sales tax added $853,047 to the city’s coffers in budget year 2012-2013, according to figures from the State Treasurer’s Office.
The city received $75,167 in sales tax revenue this month, which reflects sales in August. That was preceded by $78,474 in sales tax revenue from July that was received in September.
The city’s budget year ends Sept. 30.
Wisner, Beemer, Bancroft totals
Wisner, Beemer and Bancroft also closed the books on their sales tax receipts for the budget year.
Those three communities have received 10 months of sales tax revenue after implementing a sales tax late last year.
Wisner’s sales tax check received this month was $17,115, bringing its 10-month total to $166,765.
Bancroft’s sales tax check for October, $1,356, was considerably lower than its first nine months. Bancroft’s 10-month total is $52,854.
Beemer received $11,721 in October to raise its 10-month sales tax receipt total to $90,252.
